Yitong Zhang is a multi-media artist who is committed to creating work that expresses her artistic perception of the world through her photographic practice. The current theme of her photography focuses on identity, memory and strangeness.

Memory is an important part of people's perception of their own identity, evoking memories and empathy for past experiences through the recording of places and objects of personal or collective significance. Identity and confusion, on the other hand, is a universal and profound emotional experience, and Yitong expresses this inner confusion and uncertainty by documenting the state of the individual in different environments and situations.

She employs strangeness as a means of artistic expression, experimenting with the most common objects around her to create a sense of strangeness. By breaking the familiar visual and psychological patterns, she inspires the audience to have a new understanding of daily life.
